Tyre Services and Puncture Repair jobs we do
Puncture repair
We find the leak, check the tyre for damage and repair it when the hole is in the main tread. It is a short job that is often done the same day, and there is a waiting area at the workshop.
Tyre fitting and balancing
We fit tyres in all sizes, from small hatchback wheels to large SUV and performance wheels, and balance each wheel so it spins without vibration. Balance after every new tyre or puncture repair, and whenever the steering shakes at speed.
Pressure checks and the TPMS light
We set each tyre to the pressure on the sticker in the door frame and check the valves for slow leaks. If the warning stays on with the pressures right, we test the sensors, because each one runs on a sealed battery that wears out with age.
Wear pattern check
Before new tyres go on, we look at how the old ones wore, since uneven wear usually comes from the alignment, the suspension or the wrong pressure. We tell you on WhatsApp what caused it, and any repair goes on the quote for you to approve first.
Tyre Services and Puncture Repair questions
Can a punctured tyre be repaired?
Usually, if the hole is small and in the main tread, such as from a nail or a screw. A puncture in the sidewall or the shoulder, a long cut, or a tyre that was driven while flat cannot be repaired safely. Run-flat tyres, fitted to many BMW and Mercedes-Benz models, can be repaired only in some cases, so we check the tyre before we say yes.
What does uneven tyre wear mean?
Wear on the inner or outer edge usually means the wheel alignment is out. Wear down the centre points to too much air, wear on both edges to too little, and patchy or scalloped wear to worn shocks or a wheel out of balance. If the cause is the alignment or the suspension, fix it before fitting new tyres, or the new set wears the same way.
How do I know when my tyres need replacing?
Look at the small wear bars in the grooves: once the tread is level with them, the tyre is worn out. Cracks in the sidewall, a bulge or cords showing mean it needs replacing straight away. Heat ages rubber, so check the four-digit date code on the sidewall, which shows the week and year the tyre was made, and have older tyres looked at even when the tread seems fine.
Why does the tyre pressure light keep coming on?
Most often it is a slow puncture, a leaking valve or air escaping where the tyre sits on a corroded rim. Pressure also drops as the air cools, so tyres set on a hot afternoon can read low on a cool winter morning. If the pressures are right and the light stays on, a sensor battery has usually run down.
How much does tyre fitting and balancing cost?
It depends on the wheel size and the tyre type, since large low-profile and run-flat tyres take more work to fit without marking the rim. Send us the make, model and the tyre size from the sidewall, such as 245/40 R19, on WhatsApp. We reply with a quote that lists parts and labour separately.
