Cam phaser rattle on cold startup on 3.5L EcoBoost
The variable cam timing phasers lose locking pin engagement, producing a loud 2 to 3 second mechanical clatter on cold startup. We install the updated Ford replacement cam phasers and timing chains.

10R80 10-speed transmission harsh shifting or delayed reverse
The CDF clutch drum internal sleeve slips out of position in earlier 10R80 transmissions, causing harsh shifts between 1st, 3rd and 7th gears. We replace the drum assembly with the updated revision.

Internal water pump leak on older 3.5L transverse V6 Explorers
The timing chain-driven water pump develops a shaft seal weep. If the weep hole blocks, coolant leaks directly into the engine oil pan, turning oil milky.

Plastic coolant crossover pipe cracking and sweet smell
The composite coolant pipes and thermostat housings on EcoBoost engines become brittle from heat, showing crusty coolant residue along their seams.

AC blend door actuator clicking behind the dashboard
The plastic gears inside the HVAC blend door actuators strip in heat, producing a rapid clicking noise behind the dash and blowing cold air only on one side.

Can you fix the cold-start rattle on my Ford F-150 or Expedition 3.5 EcoBoost?
Yes. That rattle is almost certainly worn cam phasers. We replace all four cam phasers with the updated factory revisions, inspect timing chains and tensioners, and set engine timing with specialized locking tools.
