Engine Tune-Up and Fuel System Cleaning jobs we do
Spark plugs and ignition coils
We fit plugs of the type and gap your engine calls for and test the coils, replacing any that are weak. Worn plugs make the coils work harder, so a misfire on one cylinder usually means checking the plug and the coil together.
Air and fuel filters
A clogged air filter starves the engine of air, and Dubai dust clogs it faster than the service book allows for. Where the car has a replaceable fuel filter, as most diesels do, we change it at the same time.
Injector cleaning and fuel system service
Dirty injectors spray fuel unevenly, which shows up as a rough idle, hesitation and higher fuel use. A full fuel-system service cleans the injectors and the throttle body, and then we check the fuel trims on the diagnostic tool to confirm the engine is getting the right amount of fuel.
Sensor checks
The air flow, oxygen and camshaft sensors tell the engine computer how much fuel to add and when to fire the plugs. We read their live data, with dealer-level tools on Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Porsche, and clean or replace any sensor reading outside the manufacturer figures.
Engine Tune-Up and Fuel System Cleaning questions
What does an engine tune-up include on a modern car?
It brings the parts that wear with mileage back to the manufacturer specification: spark plugs, ignition coils, the air filter and the fuel filter where the car has one. We also clean the throttle body and injectors and check the sensors with live data. What your car needs depends on its mileage and what the checks find, and every item goes on the WhatsApp quote for you to approve.
How do I know if the fuel injectors are dirty?
A rough or lumpy idle, a stumble when you pull away, a misfire on one cylinder and a drop in fuel economy are the usual signs. Short trips and long idling in traffic both add to the deposits. We check the injectors along with the plugs and coils, because a worn coil can feel the same from the driver's seat.
Does fuel injector cleaner from a bottle work?
It can help keep clean injectors clean, but it rarely clears one that is already blocked. On direct-injection engines, which many modern German cars have, the additive cannot reach the carbon that builds up on the intake valves. If the car already idles rough or hesitates, have the injectors checked and cleaned.
Will a tune-up improve my fuel economy?
If the economy has dropped because of worn plugs, dirty injectors, a blocked air filter or a faulty sensor, it usually comes back once those are fixed. A tune-up will not make a healthy engine use less fuel than it did when new. Low tyre pressures and more time in traffic raise fuel use too, so check those before blaming the engine.
How much does an engine tune-up cost?
It depends on the engine and on what needs replacing. A V6 or V8 has more plugs and coils than a four-cylinder engine, and on some engines the intake has to come off to reach them, which adds labour. We check the car first and send the quote on WhatsApp with parts and labour listed separately, and nothing starts until you approve it.
Do you collect the car?
Yes, free, anywhere in Dubai during working hours. We collect the car from your home or office, from Dubai Marina and JLT to Downtown, Business Bay, Mirdif and Dubai Silicon Oasis.
