We service and repair BMWs at our Al Quoz workshop, and pickup is free anywhere in Dubai during working hours. BMW makes much of the cooling system from plastic, and Dubai heat turns those parts brittle and hardens the valve cover and oil filter housing gaskets. A weak cooling part usually gives up on a summer afternoon in slow traffic, with dust packed into the radiator fins.
A minor or major service is the most common BMW job here. BMW genuine-oil changes and major service packages are available with transparent fixed pricing. For coolant leaks, oil leaks and warning lights we use dealer-level BMW diagnostic tools, then send the quote on WhatsApp and start once you approve it.
BMW models we see most
-
3 Series
Many 320i and 328i models built up to about 2015 use the N20 engine, which is known for timing chain guide wear, and a rattle on cold start is the warning to act on.
-
5 Series
On the F10 5 Series (2010 to 2017), worn front tension strut bushes are a common cause of a shaking steering wheel under braking, which is often blamed on the brake discs.
-
7 Series
The 750Li's twin-turbo V8 (N63), especially on cars up to about 2015, can burn oil and leak coolant around the turbos, and on older cars the rear air springs are the other common repair.
-
X3
A shudder or binding feeling on tight turns in car parks often means the transfer case fluid is worn out, and on older X3s the transfer case actuator motor is a known failure.
-
X5
Rear self-levelling air springs, fitted to many E70 and F15 cars, crack with heat and age, and the first sign is a rear end that sags after the car has been parked.
-
X6
The X6 xDrive50i has its turbos inside the V of the engine, and that heat ages coolant hoses, gaskets and engine oil quickly, so shorter oil change intervals make sense in Dubai.
-
X7
The X7 has air suspension on both axles as standard and weighs around 2.5 tonnes, so brakes and tyres wear quickly and the air springs and compressor are the parts to watch as it ages.
Common BMW faults in Dubai
-
Coolant leaks and overheating
A low coolant warning, a sweet smell after driving, or the temperature climbing in traffic. BMW uses plastic for the expansion tank, radiator end tanks, thermostat housing and many hose joints, and Dubai heat makes that plastic brittle until it cracks.
-
Oil leaks and a burning oil smell
You smell burning oil after a drive, see light smoke from under the bonnet, or find oil spots on the floor. The usual sources are the valve cover gasket and the oil filter housing gasket, and oil from the filter housing can soak the drive belt, which is why it is worth fixing early.
-
Sudden overheating warning
An overheating warning comes on suddenly, sometimes with the engine dropping into reduced power. Many six-cylinder and four-cylinder BMWs from about 2006 to 2016 use an electric water pump, and it tends to fail with little warning.
-
Battery goes flat early or electrical warnings
Warning messages appear, start-stop stops working, or a new battery goes flat within months. A new battery has to be registered to the car so the charging system knows it is new; without that, the car charges it as if it were the old one, and it wears out early in the heat.
-
Harsh or late gear changes
Gear changes feel harsh, slip or arrive late, especially once the car is hot. Many BMWs use the ZF eight-speed automatic, which BMW lists as filled for life; old, hot fluid is a common cause, and ZF recommends a fluid and filter change at around 80,000 to 120,000 km.
BMW questions
How much is a BMW oil change?
We offer fixed-price oil changes using genuine BMW Longlife-04 5W-30 oil. Check our current package price in the offers section below or message us on WhatsApp to confirm for your engine.
Why does my BMW keep losing coolant?
Usually a small crack in a plastic cooling part: the expansion tank, a hose joint, the thermostat housing or a radiator end tank. If you keep topping up and driving, the crack can split in summer traffic and the engine can overheat. Book it in and we will find the leak and send you a quote on WhatsApp.
Do you register a new battery on a BMW?
Yes. We register the new battery with our BMW diagnostic tool when we fit it, so the car charges it correctly. A battery fitted without registration can wear out early.
What does a BMW major service cost?
Our BMW major service package includes original filters, fluids, spark plugs and checks. Check the current package price in our offers section below, or message us your mileage on WhatsApp to see if it is due. You can pay by cash, card, Tabby or Tamara.
