Gearbox oil and filter change
On most automatics we drain the old oil, replace the filter, which is often built into the oil pan, and refill to the exact level with the gearbox at the right temperature. Many carmakers call the oil a lifetime fill, but Dubai heat breaks it down, so a change is worth doing before the shifts turn harsh.
Gearbox diagnosis
We read the transmission fault codes and live data, and on Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Porsche our dealer-level tools can also reset the learned shift values after a repair. It is the first step for any harsh shift or gearbox warning, since a sensor, a wiring plug or a solenoid can cause the same symptoms as worn clutches.
Transmission repair and overhaul
A repair replaces the failed part, such as the valve body, a solenoid, the mechatronic unit, the torque converter or a clutch pack, and an overhaul strips the gearbox and renews all the worn internal parts. Either is the right choice when the fault is inside the gearbox but the case and gears are still sound.
Gearbox replacement
If the case or gears are damaged, or a repair would cost close to a replacement, we fit a replacement gearbox and set it up for the car. When both options make sense, the WhatsApp quote explains the difference so you can decide.

Can a gearbox be repaired or does it need replacing?
Many gearboxes can be repaired, because a lot of faults start in the oil, a solenoid, the valve body or the electronics, and those parts can be replaced on their own. Replacement makes sense when the case or gears are damaged, or when a repair would cost close to a replacement gearbox. We diagnose it first and give you both options on WhatsApp when both apply.
How much does gearbox repair cost in Dubai?
It depends on the fault, the gearbox and the car: an oil service costs far less than fixing the valve body, and an overhaul or replacement costs the most. We diagnose the gearbox and send the quote on WhatsApp before any work starts. You can pay by cash or card.
Can I keep driving with a slipping or jerking gearbox?
Avoid it if you can, because slipping clutches overheat the oil and a small fault can turn into a full overhaul. If the car has gone into limp mode, it is protecting the gearbox, so drive gently and only as far as you have to.
How often should automatic gearbox oil be changed?
Sooner than many service books suggest, since they call it a lifetime fill. ZF, which builds the automatic gearbox in many BMW models and other cars, recommends a change at around 80,000 to 120,000 km, and Dubai heat is a good reason to stay at the lower end.
